It has been an adventure, indeed.

Beta-i emerged in Lisbon between 2009 and 2010 in the atmosphere of a major economic recession. Setting the tone for an innovation culture in Portugal, we began as promoters of the entrepreneurial spirit and Lisbon quickly started to show a lot of the country’s hidden talent and entrepreneurs. Point of start: a link between startups and investors, while supporting new ideas and initiatives from individuals, startups, and corporations.

Beta-i has had, since then, a crucial role in the Lisbon Case: the city embraced the entrepreneurial strength, as the way to recover from the economic crash in 2008/2009.

Officially awarded as one of the leading institutions in the European startup ecosystem, Beta-i has been working on behalf of the private equity expansion in Portugal as well as organized self international events and programs like Lisbon Investment Summit and Lisbon Challenge.

We’re now leveraging our expertise to create a new phase, not only for Beta-i but for the whole ecosystem: foster collaboration between startups, corporate companies, and government institutions through our open innovation programs, acceleration projects and pilot development plans. We’re doing it with clients over 20 countries all over the world.
